positive practice awardsThe winners of the inaugural Breakthrough Positive Practice Awards in Mental Health have been announced.

The ceremony, held on December 5 at Sheffield United’s home ground, Bramall Lane, celebrated the best in mental health practice by individuals, teams and organisations. Dr Mark Porter was the MC for the night.

The winners were:

The organisers, Angie and Tony Russell, thanked all those who braved the storms and traffic in the northwest of England on the day to make it to the ceremony.

They also thanked all those who entered the competition this year – shortlisted or not – appreciating how busy everyone is.

On the night, Geraldine Strathdee, national clinical director of mental health for England, tweeted: “Really excited about the achievements being celebrated at tonight's @PositivePracti1 #mhawards - there is such great practice to spread!”

Paul Bartolomeo, head of call management at Hampshire Constabulary, also tweeted: “Lots of innovative work to improve outcomes for people with mental health issues recognised.”
